Seward Memorial Library, while closed to the public now, remains committed to getting library materials to our patrons. Our drive-up window has been well used this week and we encourage all who need library materials to reserve items online or give staff a call, then drive up to our window. In addition, we have read that the COVID-19 virus may live on books for up to three days. To protect both patrons and staff, we have implemented a book quarantine for items that have been returned. They will be handled as little as possible until after three days which means they will not be checked in until that time. So, even though you've returned them they will stay on your account for a few more days.
Since March 1 we implemented an auto-renewal system (for all items that CAN be renewed) and no fines, we anticipate this will not be a problem for most. We have also added a 10 day period for most things to keep fines from accruing on the remaining items. If you have any trouble with your individual account because of our three day delay on checking in, call staff at 402 643 3318 or email email@example.com and we will work with you to the best of our ability.
The library has several meeting spaces available for large or small groups!

Brand new through experienced chess players can come and “skittle.” There will be lessons on very basic chess. If you want to practice on your own the library has a few chess sets available to check out.
