What were the issues that led to divorce in the early years of our community? Dr. Jerry Pfabe spent time at the Seward County Courthouse delving into the history of Seward and discovered some interesting stories about the laws and court decisions involving marital disharmony. After analyzing the causes and outcomes of divorce degrees he submitted his findings to Nebraska History Magazine and it included his report in the 2016 fall issue. On Sunday, March 19 Dr. Pfabe will share archived information on the causes for divorce in Seward County before 1906 as well as the judgments which were issued. Come and learn about a different aspect of our history. “Divorce in Early Seward County” begins at 2 p.m., and the presentation will be followed by a time for questions as well as refreshments.
