Seward Memorial Library

Award-winning food writer and investigative reporter Ted Genoways will speak at Seward Memorial Library on September 30. He is the author of five books, including This Blessed Earth, winner of the Stubbendieck Great Plains Distinguished Book Award. At 2 p.m. Ted will share his experiences which led to the thought-provoking story of the Hammond family who reside in York County and are featured in This Blessed Earth. He reveals the unbelievable skills required of the modern farmer just to survive. The encroaching pipelines, groundwater depletion, climate changes, and shifting trade policies are confronted daily by farm families. How will family farms, handed down for generations, survive the revolution in our American agriculture? Come to listen and join in the discussion. Ted’s book will be available for purchase and signing. Refreshments will be served.
