This book is about a girl named mary who is orphaned and has to live on a moor with her uncle that she almost never sees. then she hears about a mysterious garden that has not had a foot step in it for 10 years.mary becomes determined to find the key to the garden and make the dead trees come back to life.she befriends a nice,little bird and a very rugged boy who is extremely good with the local moor animals and a sick boy who had almost never been out of his dark,dull,richly and depressingly decorated bedroom for his entire life.the magic of the secret garden soon begins to heal the sick boy's illnesses and cheer mary's sour and sharp feeling towards life.i think this book isn't quite as enchanting as "anne of green gables" and some other books i've read,but it is still totally worth taking the time to read it.THE END.
