Searching Tips

You can search for items using the Seward Memorial Library Online Catalog in many different ways. To type in a search you must first click inside the white search box, then proceed with any of the steps below depending on what information you typed in.

If you typed in the title of a book click on the Title button. Title
If you typed in the author of a book click on the Author button. Author
If you typed in the name of a series click on the Series button. Series
If you typed in a general subject such as "horses" or "football" click on the Subject button to find items relating to that subject. Subject
If you are looking for a more specific subject, you may want to try clicking on the Power Search button to be able to enter in more keywords. Power
Another way to make your search more specific is by clicking on the Limiters button and choosing options from this page. Limiters

 

After you have done a search, a list of possible matches will appear.
Some of the icons you may see next to a title include:

Red Book Book
microphone Audio Book (non-musical)
film reel Video
floppy disk Computer Software
compact disc Audio Cassette or CD (musical)
Red book with "e" in the middle eBook Reader Title
